Rochester Optical Company, Rochester, New York 1905-1912

Introduced in 1905, Rochester Optical's Premo View Camera was their top-of-the line view camera. This 8x10 example is equipped with a Wollensak Y. X. L. Extreme Wide Angle Lens marked "C. Weichsel & Co., Dallas, Texas". By 1913, only the R.O.C. View and the Empire State remained in their catalogues.

Although manufactured for eight years in both 6-1/2 x 8-1/2 and 8x10, few examples are seen today and mostly in the whole-plate format.

An extremely scarce camera among Rochester Optical's products.
